Gay Black Cats MC

Grayson Perry

Inspired by Asafo flags, which provided visual representations of military companies, especially among the Fante in present-day Ghana from the 18th century onwards, Grayson Perry designed this flag for an imaginary motorcycle gang. Published on the occasion of their Grayson Perry exhibition The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever! by the Serpentine Galleries, London, Perry exhibits his devotion to motorcycling and referenced this throughout many of the works in the show.

This example has remained mint and boxed since the exhibition.
