Descent VI

Hughie O'Donoghue

The Descent etchings come from Hughie O'Donoghue's first sustained period of printmaking in 1988-89 and relate to a group of drawings by the artist on the theme of The Descent from the Cross. These works are notable for the artist's exploration of etching techniques within them, inspired by his study of the early etching and drypoint works of Rembrandt.
