Carl Andre

The series 'one hundred sonnets' by Carl Andre consists of the repetition of a single, resonant word over fourteen lines on each sheet. In the same way as Andre's sculptures are made of bricks or blocks, or sheets of metal, Andre's concrete poems deconstruct to the word itself, placed (as in all of Andre's poetry) according to arbitrary rules, in this case by the definition of a sonnet having fourteen lines.
